Olio Nuovo LIMITED TIME - 100% Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Hand Harvested & Crushed: November 2020
Region: Capay Valley, California

Olio Nuovo means "New Oil" in Italian, and is a celebration of the beginning of harvest season for olive oil. This unfiltered oil is literally harvested, pressed, bottled and shipped to us in just a few days of the olives being picked from the tree, making it the freshest and healthiest oil you can possibly get!

Olive Varietals

Manzanillo, Ascolano and Arbosana

It is cloudy and green in color, with strong fruit flavors, like ripe pear, peaches and guava. It finishes with a complex herbaceousness, and a peppery kick from the extremely high polyphenols. Truly like no other olive oil you'll ever taste, it's the freshest EVOO you'll find!

Olio Nuovo is like fresh fruit & vegetables, and should be consumed right away to enjoy the fresh flavors and health benefits of its high polyphenols.

This EVOO is a seasonal SPECIALTY. It is only available for a couple of months each year. It is meant to be consumed quickly (within 4 months of harvest date). Our favorite way is as a finishing oil on EVERYTHING because the flavor is soooooo delicious.

Health Benefits of Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Thanks to its status as a spotlight food in the Mediterranean diet, and thanks to extensive research on its unique phytonutrient composition, olive oil has become a legendary culinary oil with very difficult to match health benefits.

Polyphenols have been shown to function as both antioxidants and as anti-inflammatory nutrients in the body. The very number and variety of polyphenols in olive oil helps explain the unique health benefits of this culinary oil. Because of the high polyphenol levels, as little as 1-2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil per day have been shown to be associated with significant anti-inflammatory benefits.

  • Lowers the risk of Inflammatory and Auto-Immune Disease problems
  • Lowers the risk of Cardiovascular/Heart problems (polyphenols)
  • Assists with proper balance of LDL and HDL cholesterol
  • Digestive Tract benefits
  • Support of overall Bone Health
  • Improved Cognitive Function
  • Olive Oil is not a commonly allergenic food and is not known to contain oxalates or purines
